What is FINTRAC?
In short
FINTRAC is the regulator money transfer companies report to, and each provider publishes its registration number.
FINTRAC is the regulator that money transfer and currency exchange companies report to under anti-money-laundering rules. Providers publish their FINTRAC registration number so customers can check the firm. Dahabshiil lists M20348565, Eversend lists M21306189, Geegpay lists 1443707-1 and Moneycorp lists M20354025. Read the number as an identifier: it shows the firm sits inside the reporting system, and says nothing about the fee, the payout time or what happens when a transfer goes wrong.
